All kids love to go someplace special to play, it's no different with your pet.  Most dogs love the opportunity to splash and swim in cool creeks and ponds on a hot summer day.  Or take a brisk walk on a shady wooded trail or run full speed in open private fields.  They even love playing and romping in the snow when we get it.
